Row House Renovation & Addition on Park Avenue

PROJECT SCOPE:

This was a complete renovation, meaning that the entire interior was gutted. The home is a row house, situated on a small, narrow lot. Not only did this limit the amount of available natural light, but also limited the client's plan to build an addition, which would need special permission from the city's zoning office.

In order to bring more natural light into the interior, all window openings were expanded, and all exterior doors made glass with sidelights and transoms. A skylight was also added to the stairwell to bring light into the foyer.

A small two-story addition houses a den downstairs and office upstairs. A glass door was added to the dining room to grant access to the small brick courtyard on the side of the house.
